A little update with very big implications

What’s new in ATEM 6.0? Blackmagic’s support page (https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/support/readme/1496) explains that there are a mere two parts to the update, one of which is the launch of a new GUI.  This is a really nice tweak meaning that you can now run the ATEM Control Panel full screen regardless of resolution.

The other upgrade?

Pure dynamite.

“All ATEM Switchers can now control Blackmagic Studio Cameras from the software control panel.” A few words that will unleash a major shift in television, video, AV and web studios.
Now the Blackmagic Studio camera HD and soon the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K will come into their own because all of the ATEM line of switchers will have full CCU control over them. The chain is complete!

And there’s more…

The switcher now lets the operator access the lift, gamma and gain controls in full YRGB colour-space via the camera’s built-in DaVinci Resolve primary colour corrector. This live production grading is very powerful enabling crews to matching Studio Cameras very easily and have complete overall picture control.
