Much to the delight of kids across the world, the first high profile TV show back in production is Australia’s Neighbours. The studios and location are up and running again since the crew turned off their cameras in March.
In order to get back on set, according to a report on ABC News, new protocols are being adopted including:
How can crews keep safe behind the lens? There are technical solutions available today:
Problem | Solution |
---|---|
The focus puller cannot physically touch the lens or stand close to the camera operator. | Teradek RT: Wireless follow focus with wireless video, distancing the camera operator and the focus puller |
The director, DOP, camera operator and focus puller need to maintain a distance, but retain the ability to monitor the camera feed at full quality and with no discernible delay. | Teradek Bolt 4K: zero latency secure wireless transmission, creating a distance between primary crew members |
Continuity, make-up, costume and other crew members need to monitor the camera feed on-set but at a distance. | Teradek Serv Pro: On-set encoded wireless network enabling other crew members to monitor shots on iPads |
Executive producers, writers, designers, researchers etc. need to monitor the production remotely. | Teradek Cube with CoreTV: secure encoded streaming over WiFi of the camera feed and wide set camera to producers, writers and executives off-set in remote locations |
